High-grade product portfolio for a demanding market
A German company from Upper Bavaria, ODU offers a broad product portfolio including, in particular, connectors for the areas of medical technology, measurement and testing, industrial electronics, energy, military and security technology as well as eMobility. Its presence in such a wide range of application areas gives the specialist a great deal of stability ‒ demonstrated by its well-filled order books for 2017. ODU has also built a strong foothold in the North American market, where it has been active for over 30 years now. Its new production site in Mexico is up and running and its new logistics center in San Diego allows for maximum flexibility and local production. This ideal positioning in the US market enables us to react to any potential changes in framework conditions. “We’re well situated within the market and will remain so. We’ll continue to be a supplier our customers can depend on as we move into the future,” confirms Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Kurt Woelfl. In Asia, ODU has achieved significant growth rates in the areas of medical technology and eMobility.
Investments in the future
The innovative company continues to invest in research and development. “We’re always on the cutting edge. Along with our connectors, we also produce full cable assemblies,” explains Dr. Belz. Upon customer request, ODU also delivers complete solutions from one source. Furthermore, the connector manufacturer once again plans to invest over ten percent of its turnover in production and automation technology.
Ongoing staff development is a particularly important focus for ODU, as the company builds on its highly qualified and motivated workforce. Many employees receive training from the company in eight different training occupations. Its globally active sales force is also technically very well-trained. China and Romania have also recently established a dual training system between vocational colleges and training enterprises, comparable to the German system. “We’re living in an international network, in the truest sense of our tagline – A PERFECT ALLIANCE,” says Dr.-Ing. Woelfl. And he is visibly proud of this achievement.
